1/2 & 1/2 (B,I,A)

​The first half of the class is a cardio workout, while the second half of the class focuses on sculpting, toning, and flexing.

Fitness Schedule

  • Fitness Center is for member use only.
  • Must be 18 years or older for use; those 14-16 years must be accompanied by an adult during use.
  • No food allowed.
  • Pets are not permitted in fitness room.
  • The fitness rooms are not supervised and use of the equipment is at member’s own risk.  Please consult your physician before use.
  • Wipe down all equipment after use.
  • Wear appropriate clothing. Shoes and shirts are required.
  • No damp swim suits on the equipment.
  • Aerobics and other fitness classes are scheduled throughout the week.  A monthly calendar is posted in the aerobics studio and on Ridgewood’s website.  All classes will be filled on a first-come, first-served basis.
  • Personal trainers are available for instruction.  All personal trainers who use the facilities at Ridgewood must have prior written approval from the General Manager.

Ridgewood is proud to offer all of its members a wide variety of complimentary fitness classes. Whether you are a beginner, intermediate, or advanced participant, we have a class for you!

Slow Flow/Deep Stretch Yoga

A smooth linking of unhurried breath with movement, intensified by holding postures for several breaths. Expect deep hip, back and leg openings with longer holds to gain strength and increased mobility.

Fitness Center Rules

Boot Camp (I,A)

​A class that combines traditional calisthenics and body weight exercises with interval and strength training.

Mat Science

​A pilates based class using a series of non-impact exercises designed to develop muscular strength and increase flexibility.  Please bring your yoga mat

Pilates (B,I,A)

​A system of exercises that focuses on strength, flexibility, and agility. The primary focus is on awareness of the spine, proper breathing, core strength, and flexibility.

Nike TBC (I,A)

​Nike Total Body Conditioning is a step circuit class. Intervals of step aerobics combined with intervals of sculpting exercises.

Cardio Interval (B,I,A)

​The class is most effective for weight loss. It combines intervals of cardio and strength training. It helps to burn fat and builds lean muscle.

2018 Fitness Class Descriptions

Total Body (B,I,A)

Steps, tubes, and weights may be used. Build lean muscle mass while doing brief intervals of cardio to increase calorie burn. No choreography.

Dynamic Flow Yoga

​Dynamic yoga is a modern and athletic style of vinyasa yoga. Vinyasa simply meansflow, so each pose flows into the next. Prepare to build up a sweat!
